An Important Reminder for Challenging Times

These times are intense! We’re all in a massive cultural upheaval right now. In case you’ve been living in a remote Himalayan cave, here’s just a small snapshot of the many things that are happening today:

Worldwide roll out of 5G
Global pandemic
Blatant systemic racism and racial terror in the US
Protests, riots and more
Massive political change
Unreliable and confusing leadership
Skyrocketing unemployment rates
And, of course… anything that’s going on in your own personal world

I’ve been feeling all that’s going on in the world in deep ways, and as a result I’ve felt less focused. Some days I’ve even felt a little adrift. I’ve not been as productive or prolific as I’m used to, and it’s taken some concerted effort to not judge myself about that.

Instead, I’ve leaned into a powerful reminder that I’ve relied upon these past 5 years as I’ve steadfastly worked to heal from nearly dying and the long-standing chronic illness that has ensued. It’s perfect for challenging times like these:

Every little bit of effort counts.

Each action, no matter how little or seemingly insignificant, is important. Every choice that’s aligned with where you want to go has meaning. Each follow through makes a difference.

For instance, every time I’ve taken my supplements (4 times a day, in fact) has been a small act of devotion to my goal.

Each time I take a nap or go to bed early I know I’m inching towards greater health.

Every healthy meal I prepare, every health-related appointment I go to, every time I visualize the health I desire, each time I work out — they’re all taking me where I want to go.

Every little bit of effort counts.

Progress isn’t always obvious, but commitment, devotion, and steadfastness to keep going in the direction you’ve set your sights on does make a difference.

The things you’re doing may not feel good in the moment you’re doing them. You may not see instantaneous results and they may not even feel like they’re working.

But whatever you are doing IS moving you forward.

We tend to think that change should happen in a big, dramatic, fabulous way. We want it to be like that. Take a pill, go to one HIIT class, take dairy out of your diet for 1 week, and VOILA! Magic!

And, spoiler alert… that’s just not how transformation happens.

So, keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t stop. The thing you’re seeking is happening even if you can’t see it now.

Little baby steps over time are what create change. They also create the habit, the strong mindset, the fortitude and the gratitude you will require to sustain the change you seek.

You will get stronger. Your energy will improve. Your life will open up. And what you seek will start to show up.

So, keep going. Don’t stop. Every little bit of effort counts.

Make this process less about being “successful” and more about being relentless.

Chunk the journey down in your mind so that instead of asking yourself ‘Can I really do this?’, you ask yourself ‘Can I take the next step’?

This is what will happen:

Your confidence will soar.
You’ll like yourself better.
You will flourish from the inside out.

And… unbeknownst to you, you will have actually started being the woman you want to be, having the things you want to have, and living the life you’ve always wanted to live.

Keep going. Don’t stop. Every little bit of effort counts. If you’re looking for ways to be inspired and get motivated to create the life you know you’re meant to live, join my private Facebook group to receive fantastic tips, tools, resources and support.
